Whatsapp is working on two new features for iOS users
Two brand-new features have been added to WhatsApp for iOS users. The WBI claims that they intend to introduce reactions for WhatsApp stories and a text format shortcut.
The app's developers made the beta version of the Status Reaction feature available to a select group of iOS device owners. The feature was eventually added to the stable version of the app, but only to a select few users.iOS 22.21.75 has been made available worldwide on Apple's App Store as of yesterday.
iOS users can now respond to any story, just like they can on Facebook and Instagram, both owned by Meta. At the moment, there are eight emojis to choose from, one at a time. All the user has to do to use it is swipe the story up, and the available options will appear.
Even though the feature has been made available to all iOS users worldwide, it might not be available to everyone immediately. Therefore, updating the application is preferable. However, Android users have not received any news.
Now to the formatting of the text. Although all three WhatsApp platforms support the formatting feature, the shortcut currently only works on iOS 16.
By using formatting, users can change the font from regular to italic, bold a word or entire paragraph, strikethrough the text, and use monospace instead of space. Tap the BIU menu instead of adding characters to perform this action. Format, on the other hand, has taken the place of the BIU for iOS users.
The beta version has been made available, but it will only work on iOS 16-based devices. The BIU menu will still be displayed to anyone below this point, but they will not be able to see the Format option.
Once more, no information regarding the availability of these features for Android users has been made public. How soon will Android users be able to download these new updates?
